ATLANTA RESOURCE COLLECTION
Atlanta accident reports and records
The investigating agency is the starting point for a crash report. Other records should be organized separately and shared through the receiving firm’s approved process.
Identify the agency before requesting a report
Check your reference card for the investigating agency and incident number. A city in your mailing address does not establish which agency handled the collision. Keep the incident date and location available when asking about a missing report.
Separate reports from supporting records
Create an inventory for photographs, correspondence, repair documents and appointment records. Keep originals. A simple inventory helps explain what exists without attaching private documents to a general inquiry.
Keep questions alongside the record
If information appears incomplete, write down the question and contact the source about its process. Ask an attorney about the significance of a disputed entry rather than treating the report as a complete legal evaluation.
